Wortree Terms of Service

Effective date: July 6, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Daniel Fragoso ("we", "us"), the provider of the Wortree app and the Wortree API service (together, "Wortree"). By creating an account or using Wortree, you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use Wortree.

1. What Wortree is

Wortree is a reading companion: you share an image of a book page, and Wortree generates an AI explanation of it, keeping a running memory per book and, if you sign in, syncing your library across devices. How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

2. Your account

You can use Wortree as a guest or sign in with Apple or Google. You're responsible for your device and for activity that happens under your session. Keep the information tied to your account accurate. You must be at least 13 years old to use Wortree.

3. Acceptable use

4. AI-generated content

Explanations are generated by an AI model. They can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading, and they may reflect the model's limitations. They are provided for reading companionship only and are not professional, legal, medical, financial, or academic advice. Use your own judgment.

5. Fair use and availability

Wortree applies daily limits on the number of explanations per account to keep the service sustainable. We may change limits, add or remove features, or discontinue the service. We work to keep Wortree available but don't guarantee uninterrupted operation.

6. Your content

You keep all rights to the content you submit and to your library. You grant us a limited license to process, store, and transmit that content — including to the service providers named in the Privacy Policy — solely to operate and improve the workings of Wortree for you. This license ends for content you delete, subject to the brief residual-copy window described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Termination

You can stop using Wortree at any time and delete your account in Settings → Account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service. Sections 4, 6, 8, and 9 survive termination.

8. Warranty disclaimer

Wortree is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of Wortree. Our total liability for any claim relating to Wortree is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (currently nothing — Wortree is free) or fifty US dollars. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the current version always lives at this address. If a change is significant, we'll call it out in the app. Continuing to use Wortree after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico, excluding its conflict-of-law rules.
